Ah yes the song that was originally written about a serial killer! Imagine jamming to "He's a Maniac, Maniac that's for sure, he will kill your cat and nail him to the door" Hmm that's not creepy...Well Michael was a fan of the movie Maniac so it's understandable...right?
Well what ever happened to the man behind this infectious song? Michael Sembello actually continued his career as a session musician like he did before "Maniac". He's worked with Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, and even Barbara Streisand. Michael also released a few solo albums and one of his songs is below...quite different from his 'Maniac' video!
Michael has also in more recent years, gotten into movie scoring, writing, and producing for soundtracks too: Baywatch, Gladiator, Flipper, Gemlins, Rocky IV, and many others. Michael's not resting on his laurels by any means! Who knows, the next movie you see might just have some music from Michael in it.
