A stand off situation has ended at a home on Division between I-44 and West Bypass in Springfield.
Officers responded to a house in the 3900 block of West Division where a man was having mental issues and was threatening to kill himself.
Negotiators were called to the scene as well as multiple back up units to try to calm the man down but all efforts failed.
Police say the man then came out of the house with a gun and pointed it at officers.
That's when an officer shot him.
Officers say the man was conscious when he left an ambulance. Neighbors say he wasn't seriously hurt.
An officer was also injured in the incident because a police dog misunderstood a command and mistakenly bit her.
Police say she is being treated for those injuries and will be alright.
