Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating a death in east Springfield.
They say Jeff Dade, from Strafford, was killed by a train Saturday.
He was 57.
It happened just east of Highway 65, on the train tracks off of Kearney Street.
Police say Dade was walking on the tracks and didn’t react when the train blew its whistle and was hit.
There was no railroad signal device at the location.
