The driver of a pickup truck is in the Greene County jail after a deadly crash on I-44 Sunday.

The Highway Patrol reports the driver lost control, went through the median cable and hit an SUV head-on.

Troopers arrested the driver of the pickup. Authorities say formal charges are pending for involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated.

Deborah Coleman was killed in the crash. She was 65 and from Lebanon.

A secondary crash involving a tractor trailer happened int he westbound lanes on Sunday. Crews trying to clean it up overnight and into the morning rush hour on Monday had westbound I-44 nearly at a stand still.

Previous Update:

At around 12 p. m. on Sunday, a 2004 Ford F-150 veered across the median around mile marker 88 on I-44 near Strafford.

The truck broke through the median cable and into the westbound lanes of traffic where it hit a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox head-on.

According to authorities the driver of the SUV was killed and the driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as Deborah Coleman.

A  crash with injuries has closed westbound  I-44 in Strafford.

Bruce Pettus, the Incident Management Coordinator for MoDOT, says the crash is at the 88 mile marker.

Pettus says MoDOT is re-directing westbound traffic to Highway 125, but he suggests drivers to get off sooner.

MoDOT says the cleanup could take around five hours.

The conditions for those involved in the crash are not yet known.
