MERS Goodwill Going Bagless To Help The Environment

Mers Goodwill is doing its part in helping the environment.

Since the first of the year, the organization stopped using plastic bags.

Instead the store will offer reusable ones for $1.

Shoppers can also bring their own bag, and a receptacle will be in store to collect old plastic bags.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, more than 380 billion are used in the U.S. annually.

Through the new initiative, Goodwill plans to keep more than 3 million bags out of landfills every year.
