The National Weather Service says some places, especially east of Springfield, could get some snow this weekend.

A wintry mix of rain and snow is in the forecast for the Ozarks Friday and Saturday.

Meteorologists say the Springfield metro area could get a couple of inches of snow.

Areas west of Springfield could get a dusting, while some places east of the metro area could get up to four inches of the white stuff.

But the National Weather Service says the latest forecast is still tentative.

Depending on what happens with the storm system out in the Pacific, meteorologists still don’t know for sure whether or not the temperatures will stay cold enough for snow — or if they’ll be too warm, giving the region more rain.
