Couple Sentenced Seven Years In Prison For Neglect That Resulted In Son’s Death

Two parents from Strafford will spend seven years in prison for neglecting their son.

Roseanna Danley and Jeffery Nelsen pled guilty to two counts of neglecting a child after their son’s death in 2014.

Investigators say 23 month old, Gabriel Nelson was taken to the hospital for ear pulling.

During the check-up, a nurse found that almost all of his teeth had cavities.

Less than two weeks later, Gabriel was taken to the emergency room for vomiting and fever.

When the two had to wait for a doctor, they decided to leave the hospital , even after a nurse told them their son had to be admitted.

Two days later, a housekeeper at the motel the two were living at found the boy unresponsive.

Medical examiners testified that Gabriel could have been treated if he had been admitted the first time.
