On Sunday morning, a truck was broken into at Vaughn and Son’s Trucking in Springfield.
Investigators say more than $200,000 worth of meat was contaminated and the thieves took about $10,000 worth of food.
The food was headed to Hawaii for U.S. Troops.
Erik Vaughn is the co-owner of the company and says he has been in business there for two years.
While this is the first time a break-in has happened at his business, neighboring businesses say they haven’t been as fortunate.
