Snow To Impact The Evening Commute In The Ozarks

The Ozarks is under yet another winter weather advisory for snow and ice.

The advisory starts at noon Tuesday and goes until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service says snow will develop and spread north through southwest Missouri Tuesday afternoon and early evening, with moderate to occasionally heavy snow expected during the afternoon and evening commute.

A few thunderstorms will be possible across south central Missouri, with heavy sleet and small hail, along with cloud to ground lightning.

Total snow and accumulation in the Springfield area should be around an inch, with amounts up to 2.5 inches farther north of the metro area.

Drizzle and freezing drizzle is expected overnight.

Ice accumulation will be less than a tenth of an inch in the Springfield area.
