Work Delayed On Highway 65 Widening Project In Ozark

Don’t expect to see road work along Highway 65 in Ozark letting up anytime soon.

MoDOT says weather conditions have delayed work on widening the highway to five lanes by several months.

Crews first expected to be completed by November 2019. Now they expect to wrap up by April 2020.

An engineer with MoDOT says if crews will ever need to shut down the highway, it will be done at night so drivers don’t have to worry about their morning or afternoon commutes being affected.

The highway department says crews are unable to lay asphalt when it’s snowing, raining or simply too cold outside.
