Weather Expectations Change; Hail and Severe Winds Unlikely but Possible

Early predictions of the storm going through the KTTS listening area this morning saw hail and potentially damaging winds.

Meteorologist Matt Burchfield with the National Weather Service says that while that hail and severe winds didn’t develop they still expect the storms to move into the Springfield area during the overnight hours into the early morning.

He also says that while floods are still a possibility in some areas, outside of those currently under flood warning, its not likely that enough rain will fall to cause more. If there is an area that needs to be cautious, its the north Springfield area.

At the time of reporting, the National Weather Service expects some snowfall north of Springfield, but does not anticipate it sticking.
