The city of Lebanon wants to get the word out about reports of a “roofing” company that is knocking on doors telling people they need a new roof.

A spokeswoman with the Better Business Bureau of Southwest Missouri says they had received over 10,000 inquiries into roofing companies in the region which included both accredited and non-accredited.

Last year, roofing companies were the third most inquired about business with a total of over 172,000 inquiries.

We hear about door-to-door roofing contractors usually around this time of year which is why we recently released these tips.

So far this month, we’ve had 10,943 inquiries into roofing companies in this region. (This included BBB accredited and non-BBB accredited roofing companies.) This makes it the second most inquired about type of business in this region for March 2019. In 2018, roofing companies was the third most inquired about business with a total of 172,415 inquiries.

We have not had any reports on our BBB Scam Tracker about door-to-door roofers in this region yet this year.

However, a lot of that is due to general lack of awareness about our BBB Scam Tracker.
