A man has been arrested after he threatened the members of the Springfield Islamic Center with lethal violence.
Richard McLendon, 39, threatened the Springfield Mosque after they sheltered his partner from alleged abuse.
According to official records, a leader at the mosque came forward to tell police about the situation. McLendon’s partner says that he has a military history and was concerned about what he would do.
Prosecutors say that McLendon has a history of sexual assault and never registered as a sex offender.
If convicted, he faces a possible 7 years in prison.
