Snow Falling In The Ozarks Sunday Morning

A snowy April morning in the Ozarks this Sunday with up to an inch of snow to fall in Springfield.

The National Weather Service says the temperature continues to fall a bit as the heaviest mix of sleet, snow and rain works its way through the Ozarks.

Snow isn’t expected to stick to the ground or roadways this morning, but you could have some ice accumulation on your windshield. Drivers should still be aware of slick spots on roads and bridges.

The National Weather Service says snow can reduce visibility to around a mile, with some lower visibilities with snow in the Lake of the Ozarks region.

Those lower visibilities are indicative of moderate snow fall that may be capable of producing some light accumulations on elevated and grassy surfaces.

We are in the process of issuing a short fused Winter Weather Advisory for portions of the area from Springfield to the Lake of the Ozarks region through 10am. The main concerns are the reduced visibilities and the potential for light accumulations of bridges and overpasses that may cause travel issues.

Counties east of Springfield are also under a Frost Advisory until 9 a.m.
