A man from Nixa is charged with holding an employee hostage at a Springfield dental business last week.
Kenneth Powers told police he was upset because his son was in the hospital on life support.
He blamed Edmonds Dental Prosthetics for what happened to his son.
His son was fired from the business six years ago.
Court records say Powers went to the business and held one employee at gunpoint, while at the same time demanding to see the supervisor who fired his son.
Another worker tackled Powers and the other employees took his gun away.
No one was hurt.
