The National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings in parts of the Ozarks overnight.

The storms started in eastern Kansas and later dropped golf ball size hail in Joplin.

Pea size hail was spotted in Nixa and half dollar size in Galena, Mount Vernon, and northern Newton county.

The weather service reported wind gusts were around 55 mph at the Springfield-Branson National Airport.

Several more rounds of thunderstorms are expected to move across the area through Thursday.

Rainfall amounts between 1 to 3 inches will fall, especially north of the Interstate 44 corridor.

There’s a Flood Watch through Thursday evening for areas along and north of I-44.
