A bear that was hanging around in a family’s backyard in Salem for a few days has been caught and released back into the wild.
Police say the bear had surprised the family while roasting hotdogs and marsh mellows, and eventually climbed a couple trees.
The conservation department had to block off some streets to get the animal down. After being tagged, it was released back into the woods.
