Severe Storms Leave Behind Damage For Some Parts Of The Ozarks

(UPDATE)

There’s plenty of damage to clean up after strong storms came through the area this afternoon.

Crews with emergency management activated the storm sirens to warn people about the strong winds in the Branson area.

The weather service says there will be lingering rainfall that will continue through the evening hours across portions of the Ozarks.

Meteorologists say localized flooding is possible for areas mainly south of I-44.

Thunderstorms are expected to exit the Ozarks late this evening or shortly after midnight

Originally reported at 8:30 a.m.

Golf ball size hail, 70 mile per hour winds, and isolated tornadoes are all possible in the Ozarks Wednesday afternoon into early evening.

The National Weather Service says cloud to ground lightning and brief, heavy downpours will also occur.

A flash flood watch is in effect for areas along and south of Interstate 44 through Thursday morning.

Forecasters say flooding will be possible with the high rainfall rates as wet to saturated soil conditions remain in place.

The KTTS Storm Chasers will keep you and your family up to date with the latest watches and warnings.
