On Saturday, several hundred protesters gathered at Carnegie Public Library in Springfield to protest a recent ban on abortions past 8 weeks in Missouri.
The march was titled the Show Me Justice Rally and protesters shouted, “Our Bodies, Our Streets” as they marched. The march continued peacefully to the Greene County Justice Center on Boonville Street.
Rally organizers said in an official press release that they were protesting for all women but also for women of minority status and economic disadvantage. They say that studies show that the ban will have a disproportionate effect on those people.
