Ozark Fire Protection District Firefighters Recover $40,000 Prosthetic Leg For Air Force Veteran

A couple of firefighters with the Ozark Fire Protection District went above and beyond with helping a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Jacy Snider and his college friend and fellow firefighter Dalton Pennington responded to the chief’s call about making a recovery dive.

The two were able to recover a $40,000 prosthetic leg from Lake Bueto inside Knob Noster State Park.

Snider says it was a team effort with several agencies which included: “Ozark Fire Protection District, Branson Fire Rescue, Missouri Park Rangers, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Johnson County Fire District. Without the help from every individual involved we would not have been successful in finding the prosthetic. It was a team effort that yielded a positive outcome.”

The leg belonged to U.S. Air Force veteran Mike Walsh.
