Yadier Molina is heading to Springfield this week to continue his current rehab assignment.
The St. Louis Cardinals say Molina will be in Springfield starting Thursday.
Derrick Goold, who’s the lead Cardinal reporter for the Post-Dispatch tweeted on Tuesday Molina was back in St. Louis to be reevaluated by doctors and to “pack for the second stop on his rehab adventure.”
Molina has been on the injured list since mid-July for a strain in his right thumb. Reports say he will not be in the St. Louis Cardinal’s game against the Pirates on Friday.
The Springfield Cardinals will begin a four-game series with Arkansas on Thursday.
The game starts at 7:10 at Hammons Field.
