SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Sept. 6, 2019) – Mercy is ready to welcome heart patients to their own dedicated entrance for doctor’s visits – complete with valet parking and fewer steps to appointments and tests.

“Our heart hospital construction project was scheduled to be opened in two phases originally,” said Adam Whitten, vice president of Heart, Lung and Vascular Services at Mercy Springfield. “When we saw there was an opportunity to make access easier for our patients by moving our physicians into the new clinic space earlier, we jumped at the chance to finish up this portion of the construction.”

Patients who now see their heart doctors at Mercy Clinic – Whiteside will see them in the new space beginning Sept. 16, 2019. “With valet parking, they can pull right up to the door and immediately get on the elevator,” Whitten said. “For many of our heart patients, those saved steps make a big difference.”

A new test and a new procedure are making a big difference for patients, too. Guests at the blessing will learn more about those, as well.
