A student was turned over to police custody in Laclede County after school authorities found a loaded gun inside of a locker.
School authorities were performing a routine locker check at the Laclede County Junior/Senior High School when they found the gun.
The student was in class and was taken out. The weapon was not used to threaten staff or students, but precautions were taken anyway.
The school is consulting disciplinary policy.
