Man From Greenfield Sentenced To Life In Prison For Murder

A man from Greenfield will spend the rest of his life in prison.

A jury in Greene County convicted Calvin Trent of first degree murder and armed criminal action back in October and on Tuesday, a judge sentenced him to life with no possibility of parole on the murder count and 30 years behind bars for armed criminal action, with the sentences to run consecutive to each other.

Devin Matthew Hunt’s body was found in Sons Creek last year.

Court documents show Trent and his son, Willis, shot and killed Hunt after a family member told them she and the victim broke up and he was threatening to tell her doctor she was selling prescription meds.

Authorities say the men shot Hunt and dumped his body and bicycle in the creek.

Willis Hunt was ruled incompetent to stand trial and has been committed to the state mental hospital in Fulton.
