Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade Happening Saturday Afternoon

The Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade returns at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14.

This year’s parade theme is “Silver Bells: It’s Christmas Time in the City,” celebrating walkability and active transportation in the downtown neighborhood.

Guests are encouraged to stroll around downtown before and after the parade. Enjoy lunch or dinner, do some Christmas shopping and check out all the decorated storefront windows in the Team A.N.A. 417 Downtown Springfield Holiday Window Challenge.

The Downtown Springfield Community Improvement District will be sponsoring free carriage rides around Park Central Square from 6-9 p.m., giving guests to make a day full of holiday memories downtown.

This year, Ozark Greenways’ Mary Kromrey will lead the parade as Grand Marshal. Kromrey is the Executive Director for Ozarks Greenways.

The parade will follow the traditional route beginning at First Baptist Church and South Street Christian Church on South Avenue and continuing around Park Central Square and east toward the Springfield Expo Center. See the full route here.
