MAP: Check Road Conditions For Tuesday Commute

With a layer of ice and snow covering most of the Ozarks, be prepared for slick spots on your Tuesday morning commute.

Some roads around the area range from clear, to mostly clear and partly covered, to completely covered.

Main roads around central Springfield are mostly clear, however they start to get worse as you extended in any direction.

Highway 60 through Seymour, Fordland and Rogersville is partly covered. James River Freeway is mostly clear through Springfield, but becomes partly covered again through Republic, Marionville and farther west.

Highway 65 is mostly clear through Springfield, but is partly covered again as you head towards Ozarks and farther south.

For those traveling to and from Willard or Ash Grove areas, be careful. Highway 160 through Springfield is still partly covered.

I-44 looks to be clear this morning, at least from Joplin, through Springfield and into the Conway area. Anywhere drivers traveling east of that could run into some slick spots.

Some roads around Lebanon are still completely covered Tuesday morning.

MoDOT is urging drivers to use caution this morning and watch out for black ice on the roadways. Although the roads could look wet, they could still be covered in ice.

Make sure to allow for extra time this morning, whether that’s to clean ice and snow off your car or reducing your speed to avoid any crashes.

Before you head out, make sure to check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map for the most updated road conditions across the state.
