Springfield police are looking for the driver of stolen car who crashed into two patrol cars early Friday morning.
Officers say they spotted the stolen vehicle across from the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Grand and Market early this morning.
The driver was asleep in the vehicle at the time. Officers say they expected the driver to make a run for it, so they set up a spike strip before waking him up.
After waking up, the driver did try to get away and hit two cruisers in the process.
Officers say the suspect had to ditch the stolen vehicle not far from where the incident started. The driver ran off and has not been taken into custody.
