Missouri State has reached a separation agreement with head football coach Dave Steckel.
As part of the deal, Steckel will step down from his job and the university will pay him a maximum of $340,000 dollars plus moving expenses.
The privately funded buyout would be paid out in three installments, starting with $140,000 dollars.
Steckel would get two more $100,000 dollar payments in 2021 and 2022, depending on his coaching status at the time.
Steckel went 13 and 42 for the Bears.
A nationwide search is underway for the next head coach.
Offensive coordinator Justin Kramer will be the interim head coach until a replacement is named.
