Confirmed Tornado In Polk County, Possible Twister In Cedar County

Polk County authorities are looking over the damage caused by a tornado that touched near Fair Play.

The National Weather Service says the confirmed tornado hit along Highway 32 around 2:30 p.m.

Two barns were destroyed and some power lines were knocked down.

No word on any injuries.

A tornado may have touched down near El Dorado Springs.

Several houses were damaged after a funnel cloud was spotted in the area.

The NWS issued several tornado warnings Friday afternoon, along with severe thunderstorm warnings.

By late afternoon, heavy rain caused problems across several cities and towns.

Six inches of water was reported over the road at Highway 160 and Calhoun in Ash Grove.

And two inches of water was reported on the road in Walnut Grove.
