The town of Conway no longer has a police department.
The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office will now provide law enforcement for the city.
Conway lost its only full time officer months ago.
Sheriff David Millsap says the town will pay his office $30,000 to cover part of the cost for a full time deputy to handle calls in Conway.
The county will pay the remainder of the salary and benefits.
Deputy Matt Frederick, who’s a Conway native, will serve the area.
