Texas County Sheriff Resigns, Demands Payment From County

Texas County Sheriff James Sigman has resigned from his position as he’s facing felony charges.

Sigman is also demanding Texas County to pay him outstanding salary for the time from his removal from office until he formally resigned.

The now-former sheriff pleaded not guilty to the charges and says he was wrongfully removed from office.

Sigman and his girlfriend, Chief Deputy Jennifer Thomaszewski were arrested a year and a half ago and face charges ranging from assault to endangering the welfare of a child.

Sigman and Thomaszewski will be tried in Pulaski County in April.
