Severe Weather Possible as Thunderstorms Predicted to Move across Southwest Missouri

The National Weather Service in Springfield says severe weather might be making a comeback tonight.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Cory Rothstein spoke with us Sunday afternoon about the storms coming in Sunday evening.

“By midway through this evening, [some] scattered thunderstorms [will be] developing, you could see a few of these storms becoming strong to severe,” He said, “The main threat we are looking at is going to be some large hail up to the size of quarters.”

Severe thunderstorms will be possible from around 9 p. m. through the overnight hours.

Flooding south of the highway 60 corridor is possible due to the slow moving nature of the storm.
