The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is the latest to cancel all events through March 29.
Park partner groups notified the board of numerous cancellations for events and the park board has decided to go ahead and suspend all events taking place from March 14-March 29 over concerns of the COVID-19 spread.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department has recommended suspending all gatherings of 250 people or more.
Parks, trails, family centers, sports complexes and facilities will remain open and follow normal operating hours.
For now, cancellations are announced only for events through March 29.
This includes:
- 3/14: Northview Advisory Council Dance at Northview Center
- 3/14-21: SPARC Volleyball league games and practices
- 3/14-15: USTA Adult Tennis Tournament at Cooper Tennis Complex
- 3/16-20: National Homeschool Basketball Tournament
- 3/16-27: SeniorAge programs at Northview Center, including hot meal service and tax preparation assistance. Meal pickup options may be available, contact SeniorAge for details.
- 3/20-22: Missouri Winter Games Pickleball Tournament at Cooper Tennis Complex
- 3/21: Soccerthon at Lake Country Soccer
- 3/21-22: Orchid Show and Sale at Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center
- 3/29: Neighborhood Kickball Tournament at Meador Park
