UPDATE: (2:10 p.m. 3/19/20): The National Weather Service says the best chance for stronger storms will be close to the Missouri/Arkansas state line where temps can reach into the low 70’s Thursday afternoon. Southern Ozark, Howell and Oregon Counties would stand the better chance of seeing severe weather.

UPDATE (1:00 p.m. 3/19/20): The National Weather Service says the main window for severe storms is between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Thursday, especially across south central and southeast Missouri, namely east of a Cassville to Salem line.

Damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, large hail to the size of golf balls and a few tornadoes will all be possible with the stronger storms.

Original Story: After a round of heavy rain leading to flash flooding of low water crossings in the Ozarks Thursday morning, more showers and thunderstorms will be possible in the afternoon and early evening.

The National Weather Service says while strong to severe storms may occur anywhere in southwest Missouri, the highest chances look to be east of Highway 65 and south of Interstate 44.

Damaging winds, large hail up to golf ball size and tornadoes will be possible with the strongest storms. .

Forecasters say the tornado threat is limited at this time and will mainly be confined to areas along and east of Highway 63 in the eastern Ozarks.
