The Board of Alderman in Branson voted March 19 to restrict public gatherings and limit occupancy at businesses.

The move prohibits planned or spontaneous events with 10 or more people.

It also prohibits businesses from exceeding 25% of their occupant load in enclosed public spaces.

Daycare and medical facilities are exempt.

Under the new rule, people who violate could be fined up to $500 or spend up to 90 days in jail.
