All Springfield-Greene County Library Branches Closed Through April 24th

The Springfield-Greene County Library District has extended the dates its branches will be closed due to the stay-at-home orders in place in both Springfield and Greene County.

All library branches and services are closed, and all programs cancelled through April 24th.

The library district released the following statement:

Library Executive Director Regina Greer Cooper announced the extended closure in accordance with Springfield Mayor Ken McClure’s proclamation of civil emergency, which includes a stay-at- home order beginning at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, March 26, lasting 30 days.

Initially, the Library was to be closed through March 31.

Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Dixon issued the same order.

All ages can still use all of the Library’s online resources 24/7 with their library card at thelibrary.org. The Library has also enabled people to apply for a temporary library card at thelibrary.org/catalog.
