Coronavirus Claims 39 Lives In Missouri

There are now 2,744 cases of the coronavirus statewide, up from more than 2,300 cases.

39 people have now died.

Greene County has 69 cases of the virus and seven deaths.

In his 3 p.m. update Monday, Governor Parson said he has no plans to wear a mask right now, but he says that could change.

Parson says the number of people with the virus kept going up every day, leading him to issue the statewide stay-at-home order on Friday.

He says he looked at things like how many people have the virus, how many hospital beds are available, how many ventilators are available, how many people have recovered from the virus.

Parson says he doesn’t think issuing a statewide order earlier would have been more effective to stop COVID-19 from spreading.

Parson says he doesn’t think any piece of paper is going to tell Missourians what to do.

He says he thinks people are doing the right thing by staying at home.
