Jasper County Health Leaders Report Ninth Case Of COVID-19

A teenager from the Webb City area who recently traveled is the latest COVID-19 patient in Jasper County.

The local health department says there have been nine confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county.

On Sunday, the city of Joplin reported its second positive case of the virus.

Health officials say they’re identifying close contacts of the patient who were possibly exposed.

A drive-through test site, operated by Freeman and Mercy hospitals, is an option for folks with symptoms of COVID-19.

This test collection site is exclusively for patients who meet criteria that determine if a test is necessary, and anyone seeking a test must call ahead to be screened, and if approved, schedule a time to visit the drive-through testing site.

The number for the screening call center is 417-347-6444.
