Coronavirus Patient Went To Work, Now 65 Co-Workers Quarantined

A local business is dealing with a potential outbreak of the coronavirus.

Springfield-Greene County Health Director Clay Goddard says someone went to work while they were sick, and now 65 of their co-workers are under quarantine.

13 of them have symptoms.

They’re being tested.

Goddard says it’s a reminder that businesses have to protect not only their customers, but also their workers.

“I would recommend screening for and excluding employees who are sick; employing physical distancing when possible; hand-washing; and other health and safety practices need to be applied.”

Goddard won’t reveal the name of the business.

But he says health officials have tracked down everyone affected.

There have been 88 cases of the coronavirus in Greene County.

Eight people have died.

There are 35 active cases, and 45 people have recovered.

Seven people are still in the hospital.
