A fire in a duplex near Branson has killed an elderly woman and her daughter.
Western Taney County firefighters responded to the scene in the 100 block of Travis Trail around 5:45 p.m. Monday.
When they arrived, they found Elva Harpole, 90, dead inside the home.
Harpole’s daughter, Lorene Ray, 70, was rescued from the duplex, but later died at a local hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
