City Of Springfield Asking For Input For COVID-19 Funds Through Survey

The city of Springfield’s Community Development Block Grant is close to $1 million.

The city receives the CDBG annually, but the COVID-19 pandemic has cause Springfield to receive more funds than usual.

The additional money is coming from the CARES Act and must be used to target three things; Benefit low and moderate-income residents, eliminate problem properties and address urgent needs.

The city is asking the public to take a Housing and Community Development Needs Survey, that will play a part in determining needs in the community.

The survey is focused on many factors including, health care facilities, assistance with mortgage relief, support for workforce or low-income people, small business loans, and support for non-profit communities.

The survey will end tonight at 11:59 p.m. Answers are confidential.

You can take the survey here.
