Springfield Police are remembering Officer Christopher Walsh on National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
Walsh was killed in a shooting at the Kum & Go convenience store on east Chestnut in March.
The shooter killed three other men at the store before shooting himself to death.
Officer Josiah Overton was also shot but was later released from the hospital.
As the sun rises on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember our fallen brother, Officer Chris Walsh.
We said farewell 2 months ago & his loss weighs heavily every day.
This year 307 names of officers will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. pic.twitter.com/SvvFwKYM0Z
