Least Of These, Inc., has distributed 460,455 pounds of food in just three months (March, April and May) to families facing food insecurity in Christian County.  This is a 115.8% increase of food distributed in the three months of 2020 compared to the same timeframe in 2019.  “We have also seen a 32% increase in the number of new families seeking assistance since the Coronavirus started,” said Kristy Carter, Executive Director.

Least Of These, Inc., will continue to serve the most vulnerable in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The amount of families in Christian County seeking food assistance is growing each day, as the number of laid off and terminated employees is on the rise, and food costs are skyrocketing.

“There are so many unknowns out there right now and I am extremely grateful for the many supporters who have made it possible for us to provide food to families that need it in our community,” Carter said.  “I am concerned that we will be seeing the effects of this pandemic for a while and I have a feeling that as we head into the fall and holidays that the number of families seeking assistance will continue to climb.”
