The number of COVID-19 cases has nearly doubled in the Joplin area over the past seven days.
Cases are up across Jasper, McDonald and Newton Counties.
Jasper County went from 48 to 95 confirmed cases, an increase of 98 percent.
The state health department is reporting more than 16,189 cases of COVID-19 in Missouri.
880 people have died.
