State Auditor Nicole Galloway has released a regularly scheduled audit of Stone County.
The county had issues with submitting documents in a timely way, and some documents were overdue by years.
The sheriff’s office was slow to make deposits in a timely fashion. $77,700 was withheld by the Collector in a tax assessment fund than allowed by law.
Stone County received a rating of “fair”
