Requests For Absentee Ballots In Greene County For August Primary Due Wednesday, July 22

People in Greene County voting absentee for the August 4 primary must request absentee ballots by 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 22.

The County Clerk says this deadline is enforced by state law. Absentee voters who are confined due to an illness, disability or high-risk for COVID-19 do not have to have their ballot notarized.

In-person absentee voting hours are still available for those unable to make it to their polling place on August 4.

Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller is reminding anyone who needs to vote absentee in the August 4th Primary, that they must request for an absentee or mail in ballot to be delivered to them by mail, no later than 5:00 p.m. next Wednesday, July 22nd. This is the deadline established by state law.

Homebound or out-of-town voters may request an absentee ballot by mail, either handwritten or from the fillable form that can be found here.

Voters that wish to vote a mail-in ballot may request a mail-in ballot from the fillable form that can be found here. and mailed back or dropped off at 940 N. Boonville, Room 113, Springfield, MO 65802.

These requests must be signed by the voters and received in the County Clerk’s office no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22nd.

Mailed absentee and mail-in ballots must be voted, notarized, returned by mail, and received in the County Clerk’s office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Absentee voters that are confined due to illness or disability and absentee voters that are at high risk for COVID19 do not have to have the absentee ballot notarized.

All mail-in ballots must be notarized, returned by mail, and received in the County Clerk’s office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. In-person absentee voting hours continue to be available for those eligible voters unable to go to their regular polling place on August 4th.

Please make sure to bring a valid form of identification when coming to the County Clerk’s office at 1126 North Boonville in the Elections Center Building to vote absentee in person.

The voting hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Monday, August 3rd . The office will also be open for absentee voting Saturday, August 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
