The mayor of Eureka Springs says festivals, events and parades won’t happen in the city for the rest of the year.
Mayor Robert “Butch” Berry is in charge of approving permits for special events in the city and told reporters he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to have large crowds gathering.
Berry told KSPR, ”To keep those numbers down and stop the spread because the last thing we want to do is for the business to be shut down again in Eureka Springs.”
The mayor says he may change his mind about the decision later in the year if cases go down in the area.
