Christian County Reports 26 New Coronavirus Cases

Christian County Health Department is reporting 26 new COVID-19 cases.

Here’s more from the Christian County Health Department:

To date, Christian County has a cumulative total of two-hundred eleven 211 cases, 196 confirmed and 15 probable cases.

The health department is currently monitoring 90 active cases.

155 of the 211 cases have been reported since July 2, 2020.

The county has reported one COVID-19 related death.

With the recent significant increase in positive cases, the health department would like to remind the community that at this point-in-time there is a potential for you to be exposed at any public location.

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the COVID-19 virus.

The health department is urging all community members to wear a face mask while out in the public.

Masks are especially important in situations where staying more than six feet away from others is a
challenge.

Wearing a mask in public offers protection to people around you, especially those who are at higher risk of getting sick.

Please keep in mind that you may be infected with COVID-19 without realizing.

Wearing a face mask significantly reduces the risk that you will spread the virus unknowingly.

Other ways to help decrease your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 includes:
• Washing your hands frequently
• Avoiding touching your face
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
• Practicing social distancing of at least six feet
• Avoiding situations where you cannot practice social distancing, such as large gatherings
and crowded places
• Sneezing or coughing into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow
• Avoiding touching frequently touched surfaces
• Staying home if you feel sick, and seek medical attention
