For the first time since the event started in 1973, there will not be a Seymour Apple Festival this year.
The festival’s planning committee voted 10-8 against moving forward.
More than 50 people attended the open portion of the meeting, and many of them made their voices heard.
Those who purchased outdoor space for the event in September will get their checks back by next week.
Next year’s Seymour Apple Festival is scheduled to begin September 9th.
