The Ozark Empire Fair opens Thursday in Springfield, and more than ever, you’ll notice increased health and safety measures.

Fair officials are reminding everyone to comply with the city’s face mask mandate.

Workers and fair goers are expected to wear masks, with exceptions made for eating or drinking, as long as you’re six feet away from other people.

You also don’t have to wear your mask if you’re sitting or standing outdoors, as long as you’re social distancing.

Food stands have gone through vigorous inspections and workers are doubling up on sanitization efforts.

The gates open at 4 p.m. Thursday at the fairgrounds near Kansas Expressway and Norton Road.

The Beach Boys will perform Thursday evening at the KY3 Grandstand.
